The descriptive quantitative study assessed STS using the secondary traumatic stress scale among sexual assault nurse examiners currently working at the time of the study. The nurse practice laws pertaining to sexual violence and forensic examination evidence collection kits widely vary by state and jurisdiction, so this study focused on Ohio.
