Miriam Crandall, BSN, RN, SANE-P is a Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner and Pediatric Critical Care Nurse. She has spent the last eighteen years working in the Level I Trauma Center at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. For the past 12 years, she has been practicing as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner in one of the busiest pediatric SANE programs in the nation. There, she works on behalf of the most vulnerable of survivors: our children. She has completed more than 1,000 acute pediatric SAFE exams and has testified in court as an expert witness dozens of times. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2003 at Truman State University and became a certified SANE-P in 2014. She received the Daisy award in November, 2022. She has recently become the SANE advisor to the Kansas Bureau of Investigations’ Child Victim Unit.
She and her husband are the proud parents of five children ranging in age from 5-18. They love to be active outside as a family hiking, skiing, swimming, and playing pickleball.
