Dr. Hoffman is an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing. Her program of research considers the longitudinal health of mobile populations and the intergenerational effects of trauma and torture in war-affected families. Prior to to joining the faculty, Hoffman served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Africa, a human rights intern in Colombia, and worked clinically as a nurse on the inpatient unit of the Johns Hopkins Hospital AIDS service. In addition to her faculty position at the University, Hoffman practices as a sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) with the Regions Hospital SANE Program in St. Paul, MN.
