Erin Tyler, BSN, RN, FN-CSA, SANE-A, has been a Registered Nurse for 6 years after graduating from Chamberlain University with her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2018. She started her career in the pediatric emergency department where she still works today. Erin completed the Forensic Nurse Examiner course in 2020 from Monmouth University and began working with the Monmouth County, NJ Forensic Nurse Examiner Program. In 2021, she became the Assistant Coordinator for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Forensic Nurse Examiner Program, which has expanded new services for patients of domestic violence with non-fatal strangulation.
Erin has been onboarding new forensic nurse examiners for the past 2 years and ensuring new nurses are proficient while working with her program. She has developed several mock examinations with the help of her colleagues so new nurses feel confident when starting independent practice. Erin and was the recipient of the Daisy Award in July of 2021, and was recognized by the Emergency Nurses Association in 2023 with her team for the Lantern Award.
