Dr. Dontje is Associate Professor at the Michigan State University (MSU) College of Nursing (CON). She is presently the Program Director for a Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA) MSU Sexual Assault Nurse Practitioner (SANE) grant. This grant is focuses on educating nurses across the state to become SANE and support sexual assault survivors. She has presented on the topic of trauma informed care and sexual assault survivors at the local, state, and national level. Dr. Dontje was Program Director (PD) on a Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA) grant Education to Promote Interprofessional Collaborative Care, that focused on Interprofessional Education and involved a collaboration between the Michigan State University (MSU) CON, the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine and the College of Pharmacy at Ferris State University. She is a Family Nurse Practitioner at the MSU Family Medicine Clinic where she provides primary care to patients across the lifespan. Dr. Dontje is an experienced educator working with nurse practitioner students for over 30 years. She is the APRN Core Curriculum Program Director for the CON and supports faculty in review and evaluation of these courses across the curriculum.
