This DNP project focused implementation of a structured protocol improving nPEP follow-up, counselling referrals, medical follow-up, and risk identification of PTSD. Direct and unfragmented medical care should be offered by rape centers to improve continuity of care, prevent delays in treatment, and enhance patient recovery. Continuity of care as a priority and linking primary care to care management after a sexual assault helps victims heal in mind and body.
