(P11) Escalating Violence: The Magnified Manifestation of Violence in Consecutive Episodes of Strangulation

This poster will include a review of a statistical analysis of forensic strangulation exams in Monmouth County, NJ, in 2023 and show the correlation and progression of violence in domestic relationships strangulation occurs.

Learning Outcomes:

Increased knowledge about:
  • the cycle of intimate partner violence.
  • the progression of violence following the initial episode of strangulation. They will be equipped to educate victims they may encounter.
  • resources and prevention strategies for victims of strangulation.
