The District of Columbia Forensic Nurse Examiners (DCFNE) is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to providing patient-centered forensic nursing care to people who have experienced sexual assault and domestic violence. DCFNE was established as a 501(c)3 in 2013 and is the sole provider of forensic nursing care for adults and one of two providers for adolescents who have experienced sexual assault and domestic violence in Washington, DC. In addition to being an IAFN and Maryland Board of Nursing approved SANE/FNE training provider, DCFNE is also an IAFN-approved Clinical Skills Lab site, hosts a Forensic Teaching Associate (FTA) program and offers both in-person and virtual courses for forensic nurse education.
